Online Ads is What We Do
Keyword research is the sole reason why I chose a career path in digital marketing. As a senior at Columbia College Chicago in Burt Ditkowski’s Entrepreneurship II class, I was introduced to SEO, Keyword research, and Google Trends for the first time by Antonio Casanova, a former employee of Performics, who detailed how keyword research works and how it is used to optimize websites. That was the moment I decided digital marketing would be my future. Years later, I remain as passionate about connecting businesses and organizations with those seeking their products and services as I’ve ever been. Except for now, AI has, to a certain extent, evened the playing field in terms of how quickly websites can be optimized and updated.
Where to begin: The SEO Audit
An SEO audit is a comprehensive evaluation of a website’s health and search readiness. It involves analyzing various elements such as technical structure, on-page content, internal linking, site speed, mobile usability, and crawlability. The goal is to identify issues that may be preventing a site from ranking well in search engines. The audit serves as a foundational step in any SEO engagement, offering a prioritized list of actionable recommendations to improve visibility and performance. An SEO audit doesn’t just identify problems, it lays the groundwork for a strategy that improves rankings, enhances user experience, and drives long-term organic growth.
Inbound Marketing (On-Page SEO)
Inbound marketing is a strategic approach to attracting, engaging, and delighting potential customers by providing valuable content and experiences tailored to their needs—before they’re ready to make a purchase. Unlike outbound marketing, which interrupts people with cold calls, ads, or unsolicited emails, inbound marketing focuses on earning attention organically and building relationships over time.
At its heart, inbound marketing is about being helpful, not pushy. It recognizes that most buyers today conduct their research online before ever speaking with a salesperson. Instead of chasing leads, businesses utilize content, SEO, and trust-building tactics to attract prospects through search engines, blogs, social media, email, and other channels. It’s about showing up with the right solution at the right time in the buyer’s journey.
On-page SEO, a part of inbound marketing, includes refining title tags, meta descriptions, headings, content, internal links, and URL structures. The goal is to create each page as clear, focused, and keyword-optimized as possible while maintaining a natural and engaging experience for readers. On-page SEO ensures that search engines understand the page’s topic and can match it to relevant queries.
Keyword Research & Strategy
Keyword research is the process of identifying the terms and phrases that potential customers use when searching for products, services, or information. A strong keyword strategy involves grouping terms by intent, mapping them to specific pages, and balancing search volume with competition. This ensures content is aligned with what users are actively searching for, and that the site is positioned to capture qualified organic traffic. It also helps shape the structure of a website and its future content plan.
Technical SEO
Technical SEO focuses on the infrastructure of a website to ensure it is accessible, crawlable, and indexable by search engines. This includes optimizing site architecture, implementing schema markup, fixing crawl errors, improving load speed, and ensuring mobile compatibility. A solid technical foundation supports other SEO efforts by making it easier for search engines to discover and rank content effectively. It also contributes to better user experience and faster performance.
Content Marketing
Content marketing is a strategic approach to marketing that focuses on creating and distributing valuable, relevant, and consistent content to attract and retain a clearly defined audience—and ultimately drive profitable customer action. Rather than directly pitching products or services, content marketing aims to provide information that helps prospects or customers solve problems, educate themselves, or enrich their lives, thereby building trust and guiding them towards a purchase decision.
Content marketing is about more than just producing articles or videos. It’s a holistic process that involves understanding your audience, creating the right kind of content for them, distributing this content where they are most engaged, and continually refining your efforts based on feedback and data analytics.
Local SEO
Local SEO is tailored for businesses that serve specific geographic areas. It involves optimizing a business’s online presence to appear in local search results, map packs, and directory listings. Key tasks include managing the Google Business Profile, building local citations, ensuring NAP (Name, Address, Phone) consistency, and encouraging customer reviews. Local SEO helps improve visibility among nearby customers and supports in-person visits, calls, and regional lead generation.
Link Building & Digital PR
Link building is the practice of acquiring high-quality inbound links from reputable websites to enhance a site’s authority and search engine rankings. Digital PR takes this a step further by leveraging content and media outreach to secure coverage and backlinks from reputable news outlets, blogs, and industry publications. These efforts enhance a site’s trustworthiness in the eyes of search engines and help establish subject matter authority. The focus is on ethical, sustainable link acquisition rather than manipulative practices.
Analytics & Reporting (G4)
Analytics and reporting provide the data necessary to measure and refine SEO efforts. This involves setting up and interpreting tools like Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and third-party platforms. Reports track key performance indicators such as traffic, rankings, conversions, and user behavior. The goal is to connect SEO activity to business outcomes, identify what’s working, and guide future optimizations with clear, actionable insights.
SEO for E-commerce
SEO for e-commerce involves optimizing online stores to improve visibility, traffic, and sales from organic search. It includes product page optimization, structured data implementation, category hierarchy design, and internal linking strategies. Special attention is given to crawl efficiency, duplicate content prevention, and large-scale site management. The objective is to drive qualified traffic to product listings and enhance conversion through improved search presence.
SEO for Migrations / Redesigns
SEO support during a website migration or redesign ensures that existing organic traffic and rankings are preserved throughout the transition. This includes mapping URLs, managing redirects, updating sitemaps, and monitoring post-launch performance. Consultants work closely with development teams to avoid common pitfalls such as broken links, lost metadata, or blocked pages. Proper SEO planning during migrations safeguards years of organic growth and supports a smooth relaunch.
AI-Driven SEO Optimization
AI-driven SEO utilizes machine learning tools and automation to support keyword clustering, content generation, competitor research, and technical audits. These tools can surface insights faster and support decision-making at scale, while consultants provide human oversight and strategic direction. AI helps streamline repetitive tasks and enhances the speed and precision of SEO work. It complements traditional tactics by enabling more efficient and data-informed optimization processes.
Analytics, Tracking & Attribution
No campaign can scale without data. A proper analytics setup enables advertisers to identify what’s working and what’s wasting money. This includes configuring Google Analytics 4 (GA4), setting up conversion events via Google Tag Manager, and creating UTM frameworks for channel attribution. Platforms like Meta and TikTok also require pixel and event tracking to optimize delivery. Advanced advertisers implement multi-touch attribution, custom dashboards, and CRM integrations to connect ad spend with revenue. Tracking isn’t just about measurement—it’s about visibility, optimization, and informed decision-making.
